We had an exciting Multi-Cultural week and our pupils did a lot of activities to celebrate different countries and cultures. On Monday, they were introduced to the different countries and they made a fact file about them. Foundation learned about Hawaii and were so impressed – they even wondered if it was a real place! Year 1 and 2 learned about Mexico, Year 3 and 4 learned about Australia and Year 5 and 6 learned about Japan. On Tuesday, they had a visitor that taught them traditional dances from the counties they were learning about; they loved it! The Year 1 and 2 children were so excited to be wearing sombreros during their dance. On Wednesday they created Art from an artist that was from their country. The Dot Art that Year 3 and 4 created was amazing. On Thursday, they tried snacks and food from their country. The Year 3 and 4 children were very impressed with Australian Fairy bread. It was a wonderful week full of fun but educational activities.
